Wording for Bridal Shower Cakes

Wording for bridal shower cakes adds to the overall appeal of the celebration. They can become conversation starters, and you can be sure that the bride-to-be will appreciate a sensible wording on her cake.

Consider the theme or your party’s degree of formality before deciding on what to put on the cake. The wording should normally convey a message of goodwill towards the future husband and wife.

Here are some guidelines on how to get the correct wording for bridal shower cakes:

1. Keep it short and simple. Do not try to impress your bride-to-be and her guests with highfaluting words. No matter how good your message sounds, it is virtually useless if no one understands what it means. Also, don’t come up with a whole paragraph! Four to eight words should be enough.

2. Find ideas in greeting cards. If you’re out of ideas on what words to put on the cake, try to get some ideas in greeting cards. You don’t need to copy exactly what’s on a certain greeting card, but it will at least give you ideas on what you could write.

3. Be sincere. Think about what you really want to say. If there’s one thing you could wish for, for the couple – what would it be? Happiness, love, togetherness, success and a better life all sound good.

4. Consider the theme of your party. Formal parties should have more general messages, whereas casual ones could be more specific and lighthearted. Try to be creative and poetic somehow! Take a look at some examples:

1. Jim and Amy, forever and ever.
2. Cheers to Mrs. Johnson!
3. Best wishes for Kate and Tom
4. Bryan and Linda: Towards a wonderful future together
5. Wishing you all the goodness life can offer.
6. (Theme: Music) “Tim and Sally” sounds superb!
7. (Children’s party) To Alan and Rachel growing old together
8. (Garden party) Nurture one another
9. (Workaholic) To always working things out
10.(Hollywood) Chris and Sue: the rising stars

There’s no right or wrong way on what to put as wording for bridal shower cakes, but as you can see, there are standards or conventions. Come up with one that you’re comfortable with.

Something as simple as “showers of happiness” or “congratulations” isn’t bad, and something creative like “Cheers to the loveliest bride” does not sound awkward either.
