Bridal showers can have any theme making the types of recipes easy to use for the event. Since most bridal showers are during the afternoon finger foods are one of the most popular and efficient foods to be served. Here are a few recipes that will fit into the afternoon gatherings.

Watercress sandwiches are easy to make and are appetizing.

Ingredients: Watercress salt pepper vinegar cottage cheese thinly slice bread.

Begin by washing the watercress and chopping them.

Sprinkle lightly with salt pepper and vinegar.

Blend in a small amount of cottage cheese.

Spread mixture on two slices of bread.

Cutoff the crust then cut sandwiches into 4 small triangles.

Strawberry glazed baked brie is a nice and light addition to the celebration.

Ingredients: Whole brie cheese with rind 3 tablespoons strawberry preserves 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar1/2 cup sliced strawberries 1 ½ tablespoons sliced almonds crackers.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place brie in shallow baking dish and cook for 10 minute or until soft. While the brie is softening in oven heat strawberry preserves and vinegar allowing the mixture to become thick and bubbling.

Remove softened brie from oven and place on serving dish.

Arrange the sliced strawberries around the brie. Lightly pour the strawberry/vinegar mixture over the brie and sliced strawberries.

Sprinkle sliced almonds over top.

Serve with crackers

Tea punch:

Ingredients are ½ pint of strong Ceylon tea 6 ounces of sugar ½-pint orange squash 4 tablespoons lemon juice 2 small bottles of ginger ale 1 large bottle of lemonade and 1 sliced orange.

Heat the tea and place in punch bowl. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add orange squash and lemon juice. Strain the fluid mixture. Chill mixture. Add ginger ale sliced orange and lemonade before serving.

These light and refreshing recipes will make a hit with everyone at the bridal shower.
